Classroom Wishlist

I am so grateful for everyone who has been able help our classroom by donating supplies so far this year. Recently, I've gotten some wonderings about things we could use for the classroom, so I thought I would share our updated classroom wishlist. These are things that we use often and always appreciate, but I would never expect anything! Thank you for your all for your thoughtfulness!

Chemistry...in a Bag!

Today we trapped bubbles inside (Star Wars themed) Ziploc bags. The results came with explosive laughter all around!

Book Fair and Reading Raffle

The book fair starts on Monday! Our students will be going to visit the book fair in the library on Monday morning during their reading block. Check out the poster for the other fun happenings throughout the week!

In addition to this upcoming fun, we just had our first two "reading raffle " winners drawn at our Friday kindness assembly that 5th graders led.

Final Volume City Projects!

Our cities came out so well! Teams of students worked together to design a city and find the volume of each of their buildings.  Here are some of the students' projects:

Chemistry, Magic, and Reading, Oh MY!

Hello!
It has been a busy couple weeks! Last week, the 5th graders got to see a "Chemistry Magic Show," which was really fun! Ask your child what their favorite part was to watch!

In addition to that fun, you may have noticed that a new reading log came home yesterday. All of Milton Elementary is switching over to these "School Wide Reading Logs."

Our fifth grade expectations and schedule (Checking on Mondays) is staying the same, but now the students can record their week of reading all on one page.

Each time they return their reading logs, they will get a raffle ticket and their name will be entered into a drawing. More details to come on the prizes/ exciting things surrounding that!

Reading logs

Don't forget, students should be recording reading minutes in their planners each week! I check on Mondays, but I think lots of kids forgot. Thank you!!

Big Celebration Tomorrow!

We have been working hard since school started on following the school expectations: "Be safe, be kind. Be ready to learn."

Our class decided to work towards a big celebration and we have earned it! The kids all voted on an ice cream party for tomorrow. We filled our jar jam-packed with "buzzies" TWO times! (I think we may even need a bigger jar!)

I will be providing some ice cream and a couple toppings to celebrate our hard work tomorrow afternoon (after pictures are done!)

Welcome to our Class Blog!

Hello Students and Families!

I am excited to have our blog up and running, and I hope to keep it updated regularly. I love sharing glimpses of what we do at school whenever I can. It has been great getting to know everyone so far, and I am excited for our coming year together!
